Grandma's 80th

I am heading back to Wisconsin this week to celebrate my Grandma's 80th birthday.   I am looking forward to seeing lots of family and friends and having some good belly laughs.

Here is the card I made for Grandma and I seriously need to invest in a better camera because the picture really does not do it justice.  There is lots of pearl and shine that just do not come through on the picture.

Happy 80th Birthday to my Grandma Barb!

Thanks for stopping!

21st Girl Birthday Card

I was making this card for a 21st birthday and the whole time the 12 song from Electric Company or maybe Sesame Street, not sure which, was going through my head and I think this song may have influenced my card a bit too.

Thanks for checking me out!  You Rock!

4:30 AM Craft Time

At 4 AM this morning our big dog decided it was a good time to go outside and the little dog thought that this was a smashing idea!

So, I drug myself out of bed to take the dogs outside and I was so sleepy that I forgot to put on my courtesy hat.  (Out of respect for the neighbors, I usually put on a hat in the mornings as my hair loves to be the epitome of "bad hair day")  Luckily I did not run into anyone this morning and really I shouldn't, because who is up at 4 AM?!?

Now, if you wake me up at 4 AM because you have to go to the bathroom then I would think that you really, really had to go and the business would be done in a matter of minutes.  3 minutes top!  I would not think that it would take 10 minutes just to find THE perfect spot.  The whole time I am stewing and thinking I am so going to bed after we are done with this.  I am not sure if you can tell but I am so NOT a morning person.

The dogs finally get their business done and we head back upstairs to our apartment and now I am wide awake. *sigh*  So I head to The Craft Closet for some 4:30 AM craft time.

I ended up making this card for our niece's birthday....

I found out that at 4:30 AM my coloring skills are also not awake yet and coloring in the lines is just not an option so I ended up fussy cutting this little otter out. I am impressed that I was able to cut it out and still have all my fingers intact!

Thanks for stopping by!

Vision Board

Yesterday I had a play date to make a vision board.

What an amazing experience!

Of course cutting words and pictures out of magazines is right up my alley.  I actually cut up my magazines as soon as I get them and squirrel away all the pretty pictures and fun words.  I guess if you are going to hoard something, it is a bit more manageable to organize clippings then if you were to hoard rolls of toilet paper.

I didn't quite get my vision board done, but I am OK with that because I have space to add new things that strike my fancy.

I created my vision board to focus on the following areas:

  • Balance between work and play.
    • Someday I want a job where I will make oodles of money being creative, interacting with positive and inspiring people.  A job that I cannot wait to get up and go to work.  Oh and I also want be able to take a nap in the middle of the day if I choose.
  • Focusing on my creativity and letting that blossom
  • Enjoying life - making it an adventure
  • Surrounding myself with positive and inspiring people
  • Embracing my spirituality
  • Laughter, fun and love

If you have never made a vision board, I suggest you try it.  It really is inspiring to look at everyday.

If you happen to live in Georgia, my good friend Robin will be having another Vision Board Play Date on Feb 22.  You can find the registration on her website

Word of the Day

quotidian \kwoh-tid-ee-uh n\
  • daily
  • usual or customary; everyday
  • ordinary; commonplace
I like to shake things up when things are becoming too quotidian by throwing caution to the wind and spontaneously doing something unexpected and crazy.

***Word of the Day Challenge***

Unleash your creativity! Post a comment using the word of the day in one or two sentences.
