My wildflowers are not growing as fast as I had expected. My best friend back in Wisconsin planted her wildflowers a week or so after I planted mine and her's are growing like crazy!
According to the research I have done, it can take up to 6-12 weeks after the seeds germinate to produce blooms and if you are in a "hot zone" things could be even slower.
It has been 90+ for several weeks here in Georgia so I feel it is safe to assume I am in a "hot zone". Again, I am being taught a lesson on patience. *sigh*
The good news is that they are still growing and I am going to do all I can to keep them thriving. Let's hope they keep growing to produce some flowers!
Otherwise, it is a very, very long drive back to Wisconsin just to swipe some wildflowers from my friend's garden for my table. It may be totally worth it to see her face if I were to show up with my snippers and ask her for a cup of coffee while I steal her flowers. LOL.
